Quick trip to Paris

I'm heading to Paris this weekend for 2 nights. Anyone have any hot clubs or areas I need to hit to get a taste of the true gay Paris? :)

Thanks

It all depends what you wanted to "taste" :D

Try Le Depot for haute hot spot!

Thanks for the PMs and such. I booked my hotel today in the Montmartre are of Paris, so it should be a good visit.

Paris was amazing. I'm sitting at work still in a bit of afterglow.. I'm going to get some pictures up in the next day or so and I'll post a link up here :)

I was eye to eye with the Mona Lisa at the Luvre. That gave me goosebumps.. The Eifel Tower was open and I went to the top, as well as the arc de triumph.

Definately going back in the spring when its a bit warmer :)

You, mon ami, have been infected with the Paris virus. ;)

There is no cure, only treatment, which consists of repeated visits to the city. I caught it many years ago and am heading back for my spring treatment in March.

The whole area around Moulin Rouge was quite interesting. Lots of sex shops. It reminded me of Amsterdam quite a bit. I wish I could've spent more time at the Louvre. I'm a bit of an art snob, and I loved it there. So many interesting pieces. I was there for 6 hours and saw about 1/5 of the museum. You could spend close to a week just there.

I did eat at alot of nice little cafe's. I try to do that whenever I travel. The baggette sandwiches were divine. Waking up and smelling the bread baking on the street where my hotel was located was very nice.

yeah, but we all want to know: Did you go to LeDepot?

I wonder if it;s still fun - I hear it's losing ground to other, bigger and better clubs.

I have a good question did the saying "Paris is amazing, except for the people" apply to your trip also ;-)

I love the city and think i'm going to hop on the Eurostar for a quick day or so when the ball and chain comes to visit for my birthday!

I'm curious what clubs are now suggested. Anything more appropriate for older farts pushing 50?

Most people were very nice. I ate at smaller cafe's and such and all the storekeepers were very nice and friendly in helping me with menu items and such. The touristy spots all spoke english or had signs in english.

Short trip to Paris Jul 8-10 2007

I'll be transitting through Paris on the Eurostar July 8-10 2007 (Sunday afternoon - Tuesday afternoon and not weekend [when I will be in London] unfortunately).

Any suggestions on "gay" things to do there (besides the normal touristy stuff)? I am not into the club scene, but would still like to meet some locals.

I am asian BTW, and I heard from a friend in Hong Kong that there are certain places with "rice queens" and are "cruisy" in Paris. Is this the case?

I will be staying at the Ritz Paris.

It will be my first time in France and my knowledge of French is limited to my eighth grade French (grew up and went to school in Canada) and reading food packages.

There's plenty for everyone in Paris. And yes, it is very cruisy. French people have less taboos in regards to sex as compared to North Americans. May I suggest "hooking up" with some locals over the internet? Craigslist or any other site might be useful. Bon voyage!;)
