"Preferred rate" partnership w/ Cayman Airways

Miami, Florida, June 19, 2003…GlobalPass, the independent web-based consumer mileage program has announced that effective July 1, 2003 Cayman Airways has joined as a Preferred Rate Airline Partner. GlobalPass participating customers will be able to earn Premium Miles and redeem SuperAwards for flights from the United States to the Cayman Islands.
SuperAwards are all-year, unrestricted, non-capacity controlled airline reward seats under a preferred rate agreement. Premium Miles allow customers to earn mileage with low-cost providers and discounted rates.

What does Preferred rate mean in terms of redemption of GlobalPass Miles? Other airlines are now Preferred Rate as well (Spirit, TAM).
