Million and half million milers: How many miles do you have left?

The termination of the Hilton Reward Exchange transfers made me wonder how the mileonaires have been doing in burning their LP/GP miles.

I earned 1 million (plus 13k base) miles and have 335,000 left in my account.

Well, you're doing better at burning than I am....
I still have about 600k miles left. Though I also have 565k HHonors points thanks to GP transfers.

I have about 340,000 left after 710,000 miles in transfers to Hilton. I figure about $1200 x 12 GLON awards was worth about $14,400 in Hilton value from the exchanges. I still have enough Hilton points to book several ALONs and GLONs, before the end of this month.

I guess I will be booking some tickets to the Caribbean or South America with the remaining miles.

Used 180k for USAir Envoy class to Europe for honeymoon.

Current balance approx. 1k.

Started with 512k or so. I've got a little over 300k left.

Q: Has anyone ever exchanged GP miles for a KLM ticket? How was that process?

I have 289,826 left from my million. The loss of transfers to Hilton really sucks! I will have to find a way to burn the remaining miles while Global Pass is still around.

where can you go in the caribbean?
Dave, I have four thousand less than you. Have no idea with a young family how to use them now that Hilton gave them the boot.

I took the family including 2 kids under 10 to Costa Rica for 2 weeks. We had a blast. I'm not sure about any traditional Caribbean island options, but I think you can do Belize, Roatan, Cancun, or the Caribbean coast of other Central American countries. Also, you may be able to get to Margarita Island or Aruba or Curacao on Aeropostal. However, the connections required may be impossible to many places if you start from a city like DC, which is only served by Taca through SAL. From Miami, I think many destinations are doable.

NSW, I cashed in a couple of KL bus awards to EU to BKK & HKG. Typically it took 1 - 2 weeks to get a reply. Despite numerous attempts C awards transatlantic never came thru.

For a surprisingly quick Y award I got this week please see:

I have a little over 600,000 left. Have traveled to Peru, Guatemala, Costa Rica with family, and soon to Chile on my miles. Also transfered 130,000 to Hilton; however, because I work very, very part time for Hilton, and am able to get the employee rate for lodging (which is infinitely better than using points) I get a lot more bang for my buck using points for travel, than for lodging. It's been a terrific ride with the million miles and I look forward to many more trips to Central and South America with my remaining miles.

My wife and I both did the 500,000 mile trip originally, had about 1,020,000 to start, and have roughly 200,000 left.

I did the 500k, and after getting multiple coach tix for travel in the US as well as 2 tix (in coach) to London; as many miles as I could transfer out to Marriott in the brief window of opportunity that I had and many 30,000 mile transfers to Hilton, I now have 1k Although there are times I wish I'd done the extra day of travel for the whole million miles, I'm still amazed at how much I was able to benefit from this promotion with the 500k.
