GlobalPass to MEX from IAD?
I have 25,000 Latin/GlobalPass miles and can transfer an additional 5,000 iles in from Diners Club.
Is it possible to get to MEX from IAD. I could fly TACA to SAL and connect with a flight to MEX perhaps? With the elimination of US as a partner, I wonder if anyone knows what options I may have... ------------------ Addicted to airline miles? This looks like a legal routing to me. Unfortunately no stopover would be allowed in San Salvador as Latin/GlobalPass only allowed a stopover in the USA if you were connecting between carriers. Since USAir is no longer an option, I believe you have identified the only route possible.

I agree with davistev. Short of KLM AMS-MEX.... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
The IAD-SAL flight is the only LP carrier flight serving the DC area. I suppose since you can use 2 LP carriers on the same ticket, you could possibly use TA and COPA via SAL and PTY if you really wanted to -- but again, no stopovers allowed. |

If so, the GlobalPass miles could then be transfered to that program. Under usual conditions i.e. a 35k reward flight to Central America, Taca allows an open/closed jaw and one stopover as noted on their website: The offer of an award ticket shall be understood as a round trip ticket of one the following characteristics: 1) a normal roundtrip, or 2) one with different ports of entry and exit, assuming all ports are under the same award zone described in the member guide or 3) one having a port of arrival in the outbound leg different from the departure point in the homecoming one (open jaw), and 4) one which includes a stopover on direct flights on the airlines of GRUPO TACA as defined in the member guide as a function of the traffic rights. [This message has been edited by freeflyer (edited 02-07-2003).] |
