LPass Cashes Check
I wrote LatinPass a check on February 2 and they cashed on October 20. I wonder how they manage their points, because they can't manage their cash.

Thought a check was invalid if not cashed after 6 months.

Cheques are valid for 15 months here, last I heard. (It used to be 12 months, but the number of people who get the year wrong caused problems, so they extended it to 15 months.)
So, what happens if someone deposits a cheque in another country? Do the issuer's country's rules apply, or the depositor's country's rules? Is there some international treaty on such things? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
Ultimately, it is the bank against whom the cheque is drawn that will decide whether it should pay it or not. If the cheque is presented later than the normal period, it will be up to them whether or not to accept it.
In practice, in many countries banks may be reluctant to accept a personal cheque in another currency drawn on a bank in a foreign country. |
