Its 12 hours, not 8. I know cos I just did the 12 hour transit visa thing And I agree, SJO is a doggy airport. Hit the Hampton.

To email La Riviera Hotel, it is [email protected] I find they answer promptly. Again, a good place for a nap and shower for day rate of about $20 or so - incl free shuttle, although I usually tip a buck.
