Taca flights very full

I wanted to warn anyone flying Taca that their flights are very full.

Yesterday I saw one of their platinum denied boarding (was there 60+ minutes before flight time).

I was surprised that they would do this instead of offering money for someone else to travel later.

Very low customer service for their best customers. Not smart.

Thanks for the heads up. Have some Taca flights in Jan/Feb, but as usual with Latin America airlines - I arrive at least 2 hrs before departure due to the possible inefficiencies / lines.

They actually tell you with a straight face to check in 3 hours before hand!!

Is this a record.

Interesting. On an obvioiusly full flight from San Jose, Costa Rica to Miami, two of us volunteered to be bumped without them announcing the need. We got an extra half day in San Jose, a free cab ride and return to the excellent Zoo Ave, a $600 credit (which later got me to Peru) and arrived in San Francisco only 15 minutes later than we were originally scheduled, because the flight was more direct.

In my experience, especially during the 9/11 disaster, the help desk at San Jose is the best in the world, and the folks in Peru were pretty good. But the operations in the U.S., especially San Francisco, are the worst. So, was this bump in the U.S.?

My flights last March to Roatan, San Pedro Sula, and L.A. were absolutely packed as well. A good sign for a good airline. Nice to be in business class in these situations.
