LANPass Upgrade Coupons Ruby and Sapphire
 

Since I won't be Comodoro again next year, I am wondering about the other categories. The wording is typically vague on the LAN web site -- so here is my question. If you qualify for Premium (Ruby) they give you two upgrade coupons but it says if you qualify for Premium Silver in the same year you qualify for Premium you receive four temporary coupons good through March and then six new ones in March of the following year. Does that mean you actually get 12 (two for Premium, four temps for the current year for Silver and then the six for the next year)?
As an example: If you earned Premium in July 09 and then Premium Silver in November 09....how would that work with the upgrade coupons?

When I got comped to Premium, then made my way to Premium Silver, I was granted 2 for Premium, and then got 4 more that same year. Those upgrades would expire at then end of March. The following year I got 6. So indeed you get 12.

With the minimum fare requirement for upgrading are these upgrade coupons useful?
I am comodoro and have never been able to upgrade when travelling Y.

well i qualified for premium and premium silver within two weeks (had already 70.000 oneworld km earned but no lan segments. with the 4th lan segment i qualified for silver. then a few days later i hit the 80000 km mark). but what happened was that only 4 upgrade coupons posted when i qualified (for the premium silver qualification). the two for the premium qualification were never credited.

Thanks for the answers! As far as the minimum fare, for me it means MUCH greater certainty of the upgrade and so worth it. I know not everyone agrees.
