I am happy about the changes. All the Chilean consultants doing domestic routes are *****. Fly business and international long routes.

I see this as a huge improvement for Chilean flyers that work in the mines and live in Santiago and fly roundtrip to ANF or CJC. Let's say you have a 7x7 shift... you could easily get platinum tier in six months. And everything paid by the mining companies.

Where did you see 15x as the multiplier?
For US residents it’s 9x or 6x and need 200k to get to BS so $22,222 or $26,667 usd according to my calculations. I’ve noticed airfares seem to be higher for next year especially between full and business. Last year the gap was as low as 800, this year 1000, next year more than 1200 so roughly 3k round trip. So after 7 roundtrips in biz one would qualify for BS and get 14 upgrades for the rest of the year. These changes seem to benefit international flyers which they have better margins with per passenger. BS 22,222/14=1,587.286 per upgrade. Black 11,111/8=1,388.875 per upgrade. So I ask myself if BS worth it. If they want more BS they should have a separate lounge or something like UA that has a separate lounge for international business. |

Peru will be a whopping 22.5 points, Brazil 4.5 points per $Real. |
I think US based elites will have an advantage over our friends in other countries because, assuming qualifying points earned on Delta will remain as it does today, we will be able to apply all Delta flights to LATAM Pass. The minimum LATAM flights rule is exiting and Delta posts as distance flown X fare class.
On another note, I don’t understand their thinking regarding lowering the Gold and Platinum levels. Gold at 12,000 points could be earned on 1 flight. It seems like there could be double or triple Gold and Plt elites after next year. |
and in Colombia will be 30 points for national flights for FULL, PE and Business

Wow, that is crazy. What flight was it? MIA-GRU? I am black, have a credit card, and will take 5 long flights (out of south America) in the next 3 months. I hope I get the upgrades.
We should create a thread to share upgrade stories to better understand the odds (I know there is a big random factor). |

Crazy right? Same happened to me when flying to GRU 2 months ago. Where are you flying if you don't mind me asking?
Does the BS companion show up on the upgrade list? |

Here I send you a screenshot of the time I saw more black signature together on a waitlist, when I asked SS they told us that a signature used the companions for his entire family.
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...21e80c6fdb.jpg the route was SCL- GRU last year, before credit cards were included in the upgrade system. That was an unusual occasion. usually only have one or two Signature on the waitlists. |
