LATAM 787-9 Open Suite

LATAM currently have all their 777 retroffited to the new Open Suite layout (1-2-1) on Business.

Now, with the 787, that is more complicated. The 787-8 layout is 2-2-2, and the 787-9 has two (!!) different layouts available, and only one of them have Open Suite.

How do we find which routes are using the 787-9 Open Suite layout?

I've used the LATAM website to book some tickets departing from São Paulo and I found the following routes:
São Paulo > France - 2-2-2 configuration
São Paulo > Madrid - 2-2-2 configuration
São Paulo > Milan - 1-2-1 configuration

Is there a more effective way of finding all the routes available for the 1-2-1 (Open Suite) layout?

Thank you, that is very helpful! If you don't mind, where do you find this info? Is it public info on another website? Thank you again,

Np, Really I just know it, from flying and searching, mostly from seat maps on ExpertFlyer, LATAM itself and using Flightradar

Anyone know which configuration is used for the US East coast:
  • GRU - MIA
  • GRU - JFK
Thanks

Hi,

MIA is the 77W, always on the new config. (LA8190/91 and LA8194/95)

JFK is the B789, which alternates between new and old config until there are more in the new one. I also believe that it can be the B77W but rn it’s the 787. (LA8180/81)

Thanks. Yea, JFK is the tricky one. Miami makes 1 stop, I believe, so JFK would be preferable if I wasn't rolling the dice with old vs new seats.

I would not take an extra stop to avoid an old config 787. The center seats are fine, no one crawls over you, the seats are wide enough, and the footwells are generous. An old config 767? That might be another story. Those are incredibly narrow.

The searches I've run so far from MIA all have stops somewhere in SA before hitting GRU.

Yea, not what I mean't. JFK is direct and my preference...its a coin toss with the 789 though, but thanks for that info re: the old seats. I've flown them before from GRU and they're not bad--just would prefer a pod if I can snag one.
