LAN - please explain flexible vs. full flexible

I only ask this because, for some reason, the "compare benefits" feature is not loading on my computer. Can someone please give me the key benefits from purchasing economy-Y rather than economy-K. I am particularly interested in differences in cancellation policy.

This is regarding a Guayaquil-Quito flight. Thank you.

Therefore: There are no substantial differences in regulations. Remember the fare difference between K and Y is $10. Also consider that all of the fares in the ticket must admit cancellations for the coupon to admit cancellations.

So for either class, I would be able to change the flight the night before, but I would pay any difference in fare?

What is the benefit of paying $10 extra?

It sounds like the $10 less is just a capacity-controlled, but not really restricted, fare. Unless, of course, you need to change your flight, and only "Y" is open, and then you have to pay the fare difference (of $10). I don't know if "K" gets you into the first few cabin rows. Y and B should. While the route is probably a 1 cabin service, the first 3 rows have the premium economy seats and often the middle seat isn't used. They have a bit more legroom than the rest of the cabin and if the middle isn't used, you can pull down a portion of the convertible seatback (forward) from the middle seat for a table. You won't get priority boarding if you don't have OW status, however.

Followup question...

Thanks.
So I booked in K-class. When I go to the seat selection, I see the "available seats." I also see the "preferential seat (fare)" in rows 2-3 as you mentioned. It lets me choose those and save the selection. Does the label "(fare)" mean that I will be charged the additional amount, possibly at checkin?

I don't think so. It seems to mean that they treat K in high regard ;) But with all things LAN, you'll have to report back!
