Latam is totally out of Oneworld now?

I'm in Sao Paulo and want to go to Curitiba. But Latam has totally left Oneworld now right so my Emerald status won't get me anything?

If so I might as well choose Gol or Azul as all the same price.

Sorry if dumb question, but for South American flights - there is no Oneworld airline now is there? It's all Star Alliance?

Depends

Latam still has some bilateral
agreements with OW airlines, however if I am not mistaken these do not regard status benefits. Regarding domestic flights in Brazil, I don’t recall Gol, Azul or Latam with benefits to any specific airline alliance. I would pick the one that bests suits my schedule and travel benefits according to fare.

Thanks! I'll just pick the best timings then.

That's a shame that there is no alliance for anything in South America.

Alliances work well for international flights. Star Alliance still has Avianca International, for example!

LATAM continues to participate in Oneworld's Global Explorer-fare family.

Well I bought a return from Latam.com and it asked for my OW number so I put it in.

Then went to manage my booking after and it let me select my seat for free and I could take a premium leg room for free.

So not really sure what the rules are, but I'm happy if anything I got the better seat for free still.

If you have Oneworld Status on any Oneworld Airline except American Airlines you will have almost the same benefits that you had previously

Note that LATAM Lounge in GRU is currently closed due to the pandemic

So for boarding I'll still be group one, etc (OWE).

Also, will crew on board recognise status on my long haul?

Tia.

Having flown LAN Chile / LAN / LATAM on many longhaul premium segments over the past 19 years (always with a partner FFN) my observations have been that unless you're a VIP, or top top tier in the airline's own program, you and everyone else in the cabin are treated pretty much the same.
