Real experiences at the Palms Real World Suite?

The suite MumbaiFlyer posted is of a villa at Palazzo. If you listen closely, it sounds like the guy says it was $2000 per night. Maybe available to upgrade to, perhaps? You're not going to get that rate calling in. Venetian/Palazzo are pretty generous about tossing their best suites into the day-of upgrade pool, though.
It's got a lot of amenities, but absolutely no sense of consistency, harmony, or symmetry in its interior design. Compare to a Wynn Las Vegas Apartment Villa:

they dont book ground floor fairway or apts, but you never know what might happen when the place is overbooked. probably will be a while before that kind of problem crops up again, even considering events.

albeit, a riskier way to proceed,
If you can secure a ressie that's acceptable (as a backup) with a decent cancellation policy (i.e. 3-4 days), you might be able to negotiate a better deal 7-10 days out. Of course, this would have to assume the suite you were interested in negotiating for was available, on that short notice. Your $ leverage on these specialty suites will increase substantially (IMO), if they are looking like they might go empty.

My most exciting moment this year, is when I noticed they now stock Woodford Reserve @ the EMC2 bar; previously only Makers was available.

I "think" Lago Suites are now applicable for the $$$ for upgrade program for COMP rooms @ Palazzo. I was offered to a Venetian Renaissance once, as an upgrade, but it wasn't worth the $ (for me alone on a short solo trip), even at the much reduced rate. (of course, my feeble mind does not remember the $ amount from a year+ ago... think it was $200'ish per night).
For example, rates to upgrade a COMP room currently are :
as low as $50 for a Venetian Rialto upgrade,
Palazzo Lago 1Bedroom $600
Palazzo Lago 2Bedroom $900
Renaissance Venetian $600
Penthouse Venetian $2000
Of course, as I've noticed first hand, you can save 50% or more on the above upgrade rates if done on day of arrival. Though, they need to have the rooms available for upgrade. Reserving [the upgrade] in advance comes with the security of knowing what you'll get at check-in. Personally, I'd still opt for negotiating at check-in.

Their policies have changes and you can now book top suites through vip services directors. You can definately book a renassance. as for the 2K suites thats what they sometimes qute for a penthouse but, Ive heard 5K most often and I believe the penthouses are paiza but, not sure on that. I would be surpised if there are any suites in LV that are not bookable. MikeE are you getting butler service with your 3 bdrm apt (b/c you should)?

- wynn ground floor fairway and apartment villas = not
they did open up encore apts, and seems like venetian macau opened up paiza
- also, while caesars used to say theyd book anything, latest PR re 6BR was more "not bookable" etc

From what reservations tells me, no. I did speak to villa services as well and they said that is something that will be addressed as the date gets closer. I got the vibe that nobody gets butler service unless booking through casino, but sporadic reviews I've read say otherwise.
