Having just returned from my 15th trip to Wynn/Encore this year alone, it was a madhouse for the 4th. ... Never again.
Pools: If you're staying in a tower suite at Wynn, you have access to either pool, not just the upper-deck of Wynn's pool. While Wynn remained at capacity for most of this past weekend, it seemed as if Encore was somehow empty. Pool loungers open everyday. Cabanas freely available. Impeccable service from the staff. Unfortunately, Wynn's pool service was SLAMMED. They didn't handle it well and put far too few people on the floor to handle the cramped holiday traffic. This trip was my first real disappointment with the property, even if much of the problems came with the rowdy, shirtless, crass guests who seemed to lurk around every corner. BN |

Does anyone know if this is still true? If so, is it just first come/first serve? Also, I was there about six weeks ago on a Saturday and it was packed. Are weekdays more open?
On weekdays, cabanas are $300, as are the daybeds in the water. The round daybeds outside of the water at the European pool are $200. |
Can Wynn guests access the Encore Pool? What about the Encore European Pool or Beach Club?
|
encore can access wynn pool, encore tower can access wynn tower pool
encore beach club requires fee or F&B min |

I know we've had a thread up about Encore vs. Wynn, but I am wondering specifically about the pool. I am booked to stay at a Tower Suite at Encore and have been told I could use either pool. I usually book a cabana while I am out there, so I have a few questions for you guys that have been out there already.
1. I've heard the Encore pool is smaller than Wynn--not taking cabanas into account, which pool would you rather use? 2. Are there any differences in cabanas between the two hotels? I'd be willing to use the Encore pool even if it isn't as good as the Wynn if the cabana is better. 3. I've heard that people staying in Tower Suites at Wynn get access to a private pool but that isn't given at Encore. Can Encore Tower Suites residents use the Tower Suites pool at Wynn? Is this an important thing to consider--how good is this private pool? Are there different cabanas on it? Thanks for any info!! 1. Wynn is better 2. The cabanas are different, but both of them are great... |

I've been told that Wynn guests cannot use the Encore pools (the European pool has the same entrance as the main pool). This is due to the Encore pool area being smaller than the Wynn pool. The way around that if you were staying at Wynn would to play Blackjack for a bit at the Encore Pool gaming area, since they will let you in if you tell them you just want to gamble. The Encore Beach Club is open to anyone. |
Since the opening of the Beach Club, Encore seems to be pushing the "party" atmosphere hard at all of their pools now. There are several new levels of security at the main pool area - a doorman at the revolving door and they now scan room keys. So you probably will not be able to get in if you're at the Wynn.
They also have a DJ at the European pool Fri-Sat-Sun (at least) and the music is LOUD! I personally loved it but it is nightclub volume so be prepared for that. When we were there the regular pool was lower volume, but on Sunday we walked right by Steve chewing out the pool manager for the area not being "happening" and being "too quiet." So expect to go to the Wynn pool if you're looking for relaxation. Other lessons learned - tip a pool hostess to find chairs together on busy days. This seems to work very well. On Saturday it was INSANELY busy, wall-to-wall, but we had made friends with a VIP party so got to use their lily pad and daybeds. They really need to have another cocktail waitress or two working Fri-Sat. 2 girls is not enough! Still, the Encore Euro pool has to be one of the best free day parties in Vegas on the weekend. We went to Encore specifically to go to the Beach Club, but didn't even end up going because it seemed like a better value to get free entrance and chairs at the Euro pool and spend our money on drinks and food. |
Just stayed at Wynn Tower Suites and was given access to the Encore Pool (regular and European). They did scan my room key when I entered. I do not know if it mattered that I was in the Tower Suites, but it did not appear so. I believe either hotel guests have access to both pools.
And yes, the scenery was nice at the Euro Pool....its legit and "European", even on a Thursday afternoon. |

Has anyone used a cabana lately? My wife and I will be at the Wynn in a few weeks for five days. We may ask to move to the Encore due to the spa at the Wynn being under renovation. My wife wants a pool day and the only way I'm doing a pool day in the desert, in that heat, is with a cabana. Is the pool scene and cabanas better at Wynn or Encore?
