That's because Vegas is being slaughtered right now - about the busiest thing there are the buffets and cheap rooms, but hardly anyone is gambling.
A year or so ago, there wouldn't be a $10-15 table anywhere at the Wynn on a Thur-Sun period...trust me, I checked. |

For truly cheap eats walk out front to Las Vegas Blvd south of Venetian and there is a Denny's and another block south sandwiched between Casino Royale and Harrah's is a McDonalds, Chipotle and a pizza place. Inside Casino Royale is a Subway. |
kingalien - Thank you for the great suggestions. But while the Denny's may seem "close", I thought it was incredibly far away from the casino.
I assumed they wouldn't be charging FF prices inside that fancy schmancy hotel :p But it's better than sitting down at the Grand Lux for a quick sandwich. |
Could also hop across the street to the Fashion Show Mall....I seem to recall some less expensive places in there.

:) if Denny's is not considered close enough in proximity to some, the food court at Fashion Show Mall will seem like an eternity to get to :p.
|
Of course, on the Strip, a hotel that's 'next door' can take 15 minutes to get to, and if you have to "cross" the street (aka going up and down escalators) add another 10 minutes!

Both properties suffer from a lack of reasonably-priced, er, non-excessively-priced food choices. The food court at Venetian is OK if you can find it and you like the food choices there. Wynn has nothing to offer in the sub-$80 meal for two category.

Here is a listing of the food choices at the Fashion Show mall (click on 'Food Court' to see a list of the options there):

I'm saying it is cheap, but Zoozacrackers is less than $80 for 2 people. Probably around $40. |

I am so dying to go back to Vegas...and I received a 2-4 day comp offer from Venetian this week as well as a 2 day comp offer from Wynn....and I was hardly a big gambler when I was at either property.
One trick that I have recommended before that might get you a sweet result, it worked for at least one person I know. Go online to Venetian, sign up for Club Grazie, and then call a week later and ask if they have any "specials" going on right now because you are considering a trip. Buddy did this and was offered a 2 night comp (weekend) and a $25 slot credit. Seriously. Sweet. |

I'm debating between Wynn, Venetian, and Encore right now. Encore is $40 more a night than the Wynn. Anyone stayed at both the Wynn and Encore? I've been to the Encore casino and one thing I don't like is that you have to take a super long walk to get to anywhere.
