Amex FHR?

Sorry if this has been discussed, I did a search but was unable to find anything.

I've seen a few references in this referencing "amex FHR" as a booking resource. Seems they're able to get discounts on rooms at some of the higher end locations. Can anyone give me a quick overview of what this service is?

Thanks,

Bob

American Express credit card Fine Hotels and Resorts (FHR). Available to AMEX Platinum and Centurion card holders. Basically you get an upgraded room, if available, late check out on request, and an amenity determined by the property. Program info here.

Virtuoso also provides similar program without having to be a card holder.
