Cheeseburger at the Oasis?

This is the restaurant I always eat at when I stay at Planet Hollywood or nearby. It is in the Miracle Mile mall. I alternate between the blue cheese burger and the guacomole/bacon burger.

Do you ever feel like you live in a different planet than other reviewers? On the various review boards, this place gets blasted as an awful place to eat. I think it has fantastic food. I don't think it is perfect; the waiters aren't friendly and the side orders such as onion rings are too big for one person and too expensive.

Does anyone else like this place?

Well, among other problems Andy, it's not an oasis anymore. (They dropped that part of their name somewhere along the line.)

I think you've hit on a couple of problems. The servers I've had there (3 or 4 visits) seem to have some sort of chip on their shoulder. In addition, on my last visit as a line started forming (and then building) at the entrance, we watched as the hostess slow-walked around the restaurant with a seeming intention to seat as few people as possible.

As to the food, you're right about the side items. Unless you like to overpay and/or waste food, you pretty much have to share the same side item if there's two in your party and forgo it if you're dining solo. And regarding the burgers, which I think are pretty decent, I've found I like In N Out burgers better when I'm in Vegas! Plus, no 'tude from the help.

These sound like major problems for a lower tier restaurant. It's a burger joint and the service sucks. As has already been said, McDonald's and In&Out have that corner of the market covered. When I sit down in a spot, pretty much all you have to do is bring me my food, and keep my adult beverage full to ensure your 20% tip. If you can't handle that, don't offer to serve the food.

Try the Burger Bar in Mandalay Place. (Connected to Mandalay Bay on one end, and the Luxor on the other).
The Kobe Beef Burger is $16. After adding sides (including cinnamon bacon and cranberry sauce) my burger came to $20.
They have a great selection of imported beers as well !!!

Thanks for the tip. I've been spending more time at Mandalay Bay, so I'll to try it on a future visit. I'm sure I've walked past it once or twice but can't recall it.

You're welcome ! It is located in Mandalay Place (the shopping mall that connects the Mandalay Bay casino to the Luxor).
Walking from the MB casino, it will be on your left hand side....closer to the Luxor.
The burgers are well worth it. Enjoy !
