Minimum Spend For Comp
I've just read through the maximizing thread and have a question in relation to the minimum amount you need to bet / time you need to be betting before you're given any decent comping/discount.
Say, for example, you play $25 hands of blackjack for 40 hands, will that give you the same comping ability as walking up and putting $1000 in one hand, or $500 per hand for two hands? At the start of your trip, for example, could you "invest" $300 into your holiday by making one quick bet, catching the eye of the gaming manager, and then asking about comping? |

I spoke to one floor guy and he said that they estimate that the make your minimum bet off you per hour, so if you're playing blackjack at $25 per hand the make a total of $25 off you over a whole hour, of that $25 you can expect about 10-20% returned to you as comps....
I asked if i walk up and do a quick bet of whatever amount and he said that he would probably give a buffet comp, he had osme name for it too, along the lines of a flash in the pan thingie or something technical like that... |

Only exception is a really big loss in a short time, lets say, $40,000 in only 20 minutes of play --- that would be taken into consideration. Now, the one quick bet thing isn't the worst idea if you want to do an all or nothing for the $$$ type scenario. I'll often walk up to a roulette wheel (while passing through the casino to the pool) drop $100 on black.. and then just continue on (win or lose). So, you might turn your $300 into $600; which is far better than any comp you would receive for limited play; of course, you can weigh the downside of this scenario. ;) |
