"prior day arrival required"
We will be spending 4+ days in Las Vegas next week and we've considered Luxor for accomodation. Not because it's the best place in town but because the pyramid shape is something different from the rest.
There's availability in the rooms but the reservation system doesn't allow arrival on saturday, 17th december. If I book a from 16th december until 21th, pay for the 16th but arrive on the 17th, is this going to be a problem? I believe some other hotels in Las Vegas also have this "prior day arrival requred" policy on saturdays. |
You will need to actually check-in on Friday or will lose your reservation. At least I've never heard of anyone paying for Friday and showing up a day late to check in. Many hotels do not accept Saturday arrivals. There are several that do though.
You may want to spend Saturday night at one place and then book the Luxor for Sunday night on. The dates you have chosen are such a slow time in Vegas that if you call the hotel they may be able to override their system to allow a Saturday night arrival. |
Las Vegas hotels don't like Saturday arrivals because they feel they lose the "whole weekend" people. In the past, if I am arriving on a Saturday, I ask to speak to the reservations supervisor and explain I am not coming for just the one night and they have made an exception and allowed the Saturday check in. You have nothing to lose by trying that.

Calling may work to get the Saturday arrival, especially if you have a history of playing there. Also re-checking closer to your arrival may help - if they have plenty of open rooms for Friday and Saturday they are not going to give up a Saturday only reservation if it won't stop a later reservation for the entire weekend.
