Wedding Extravanganza
 

Here is the deal I am going to Vegas Sept. 21-25, 2005. I am getting Married Sept. 24th.

I am looking for a nice Hotel that is not outrageous. I have been eyeing the Bellagio. I have stayed at the Venetian and Imperial Palace so I have seen both ends of the spectrum. I am getting married at Lake Las Vegas so no chapel is needed. Right now a "view room" at the Bellagio is running 249. This is to salty for most of my guests. They want to get something around the 100-150 range.


Suggestions for everything and anything would be appreciated.

I'd reccomend that you and your fiance stay at Bellagio (in a lake view room) and have your friends stay somewhere close. For my Wedding @ Bellagio, we stayed there, and had our friends split between Bellagio, Monte Carlo, Paris, and Flamingo. Besides being just a few blocks from Bellagio, these places represent a pretty wide price range, so you should find something for everyone. We just included the numbers for these places in our invitations and let our guests decide.

As far as a group dinner, we put together a lunch reception at Circo, which ended up being about $70pp incl drinks ... I believe that there is also a recent thread on someone who had a good experience at Landrys.

As for the Bachelor Party, I'd reccomend a BYOB place ...

About 2 miles off the strip are one and two bedroom condos. I know, I know--you're first thought is oh no, it's off the strip.

Normally I'm a huge fan of the Monte Carlo but ever since my boyfriend and I found the Westgate Flamingo Bay, we'll never go back to the strip. (Okay, maybe.)

With a bunch of people flying in for your wedding, someone's bound to get a car and if not, they have free shuttle service to the strip every hour between 1 PM and 2 AM. It stops at Mandalay Bay, Bellago (voila! your stop!) and MGM. Just make sure you sign up early because it tends to fill up.

If there are kids, this place is IT because they have arts and crafts and activites (usually during the week) and other fun stuff like make your own sundaes by the pool. (Some of it costs a couple bucks.)

We paid $69 a night for a weekday (through Expedia) and $95 for Friday and Saturday. This is when the dumpy Excalibur was charging $225 for a Saturday night...for a 3 star basic hotel room.

It's a lot like a Residence Inn by Marriot with a full kitchen, living room, dining area, and a bedroom (or two.) The sofa's pull out...

I'd suggest that you and your fiancé stay at the Bellagio (with a fountain view of course!). Put the rest of the family up across the street at either Bally's (average $144/night, plus tax @ hotels.com) or the Aladdin (avg $160/night plus tax, again @ hotels.com).

For bachelors party, Sapphire is pretty darn tough to top...

I recommend Carluccio's Italian Restaurant for dinner. It is next door to the Liberace museum. Used to be Tivoli Gardens. Very friendly place with small rooms so that a small group of 30 or so can feel like they have the place to themselves. Very reasonably priced and good food. We've held a couple of family events there.
