Expect some very good hotel deals to occur during that November weekend

I doubt the casinos will miss Comdex much. The hotels were full, but the casinos were empty.

How does the old joke go? "A comdex attendee comes to Vegas with a $20 bill and a clean shirt and they don't change either one all week..." ;)

Attendence was only 46,000 or so last year. In 1999 it was 250,000. This group may not gamble much, but with hotel rooms averaging 250/night during this time period, plus all of the food consumed, etc., this definately has an impact on the hotels.

Well, that explains the mailings I just received from a couple of Vegas hotels with low rates for the normnal Comdex weeks.

I went from '95 to '99 and in '01 - what a contrast '01 was from the previous years. And co-workers who went last November confirmed what the article stated re: the disappointing exhibitor lineup - they were scheduled for three days, but returned to Florida after the first afternoon.

The exiting days of computers has pretty much passed by. Those were the days with so many new gadgets and things to see and do. Atlanta used to hae a great show, then they moved it out. These days a computer has become just another piece of equipment.
