I'm a fan of the Charlie Palmer Cut of the Week at Mandalay Bay. It's not as outrageously good a deal at $58 as when it was $48, but the wine pairings have always been delicious and the food is great.

Went with a small group to Charlie Palmer Steak for dinner last night. Very good food ( with the exception of the desserts which were pretty but forgettable.and one dish that had to be redone because of over salting.) but the service was not so great for a restaurant at this price point. Lots of attention when we were first seated(we felt like we were being rushed) and then we had to flag down someone to help us at a few points of our meal. No mention/ attention to a special event I had pointed out when making the reservation Nothing comped as a gesture of the flawed dish. I had to pour wine at one point for guests-waiter/wine steward not noticing.

My rib eye was great, two fillets were perfect, scallops were beautifully presented but had to be sent back because of over salting. Steakhouse fries and asparagus were perfect.

I wonder if you actually can get an excellent steak for say $30. Or am I low-balling it?
That's about the price of a steak frites at Mon Ami. The steak is an entrecote/sirloin type cut but theirs is rather good. Just go in knowing it's not a fillet or strip.

If you want to slum it, I had a surprisingly good steak + eggs at Ellis Island last time I was in town. Steak snobs would probably take issue, but for 10.99 I was very happy with what I got.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good place in/near Caesar's? Bonus points if they have great cocktails... I'm a sucker for a good Manhattan and a medium rare steak.

Looking forward to Ellis Island in April. Love the atmosphere there as well.

If you're into dives, the Stage Door bar/"casino" (nothing but video poker) and Batistia's (divey Italian place w/ free wine) are both down the road between Bally's and the Flamingo and great.

Our first trip in a few years and looking for some new ideas. Was considering the suggestions for Wynn/Encore but the many subpar reviews do not inspire confidence. At these prices everything should be near perfect.

I guess we will stick with the tried-and-true Delmonico and Del Frisco, though may try lunch at Bouchon and Country Club. Morels may also be worth a visit...

Wondering if Binion's is still any good? This was a favorite for many years.

So does anyone have suggestions for someone on a bit of a budget?

Ellis Island is nice but something slightly a step up in terms of quality.

Willing to trade atmosphere for price, but would ideally love to be able to get a good medium rare steak and a well made cocktail. (But can always split that in two and hit a cocktail bar first)

Would you consider Mon Ami Gabi?

Sure, looking on Yelp... is this inside that freaky part of Paris with the fake painted sky?

Just on the edge. You'd hopefully get a table outside across from the Bellagio fountains.

Mon Ami Gabi is pretty good food, for the price, in a great setting (moreso if you can sit on the terrace or near the window across from Bellagio). The steaks won't be the same as a high-end steak house, but they're decent, and the other French bistro food is pretty good.

Anyone been to Herbs and Rye? Was thinking of checking out their half price steak offer.

A belated plug for Delmonicos where we dined in July 2017. An excellent experience from start to finish, including perfectly cooked filets. It was a bit more pricey than Del Friscos but this was offset by the convenience of walking down from our Palazzo room (v. taxi/Uber). Also a fan of the New Orleans cuisine, particularly since the shutdown of the Commanders Palace outpost a few years ago.
