WiFi at LAS?
I was here April 5th-6th and couldn't seem to find a wireless signal anywhere in the airport. I asked a few employees - they said there was just ONE internet kiosk at the cell phone store infront of C gates, and NO wireless at the airport at all.
Anybody confirm or deny this? I'll be going back through in May so hopefully I can find some sort of connection. |
The past couple of times I've gone through LAS there's a strong signal on the D gates (SSID "McCarran WiFi") but no Internet connection seems to be available through that signal.
Has this changed? |
When I was a UA flyer, I never had a problem getting a WiFi connection in the D gates by United. In the A and B concourses, though, I can't get a connection at all.
I really wish I could get a connection throughout the airport -- it'd be worth the cost given all the time I spend waiting for flights. |
C gates are lit
I flew out of gate C-25 (Southwest) Monday evening. I was able to associate to the access point and surf the web. Guest access is free for now, but I've got to believe that a billing service (Wayport, Boingo, etc.) will be running shortly.

They have not made a public announcement of the service yet -- it's still technically in a "pre-release" phase -- but they are not planning to charge for access. A big ^ for McCarran! |
WiFi at gate C18 11/29/2004
I'm sitting at Gate C18 (Southwest) happily on line for free.
Can't seem to send email... smtp ports 25 and 587 seem to be blocked... but 110 is open and I'm receiving fine! |
