Please don't laugh at me!

I promised my wife that I would take her to see Celine when she gets back from Korea. No problem so far. Somehow, she got the idea that it would be easy for me to get an autograph and maybe have a brief audience with the Diva. Bottom line, is this something that the concierge can take care of and how much do you think it's gonna cost? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I wont laugh but you are in big trouble.
Settle for the tickets they will set you back about $100 a piece (for the cheapest ones) to about $210.00
Shows are sold out until the end of June but I believe you can get tickets three months in advance.

Maybe there's a Celine impersonator show you can get in... (sorry!)

Talk to the concierge! You'll never know if you don't ask!

Allegedly Celine has the tightest security of any celeb in Vegas. Caesar's even built a helicopter pad near the theatre to whisk her in before and out after the show, so she wouldn't have to deal with the riff-raff.

Suggest roses and a nice dinner before the show to console your wife. There were some room, dinner and show packages on the Park Place website which were surprisingly available within the sold-out window, so perhaps they reserve some tickets for these. Good luck.

Sounds like a great idea, but highly unlikely. I am heading out to Vegas at the end of the month, and have tried to get tickets for the show for my girlfriend. Tickets for the weekend we want to go are all sold out, however they are available on eBay between $200 - $500 each, depending where they are. A little to risch for my blood. I heard Orch level seats are sold out until Sept - Oct so if you are planning this you need to get a jump on availability for tickets. I would contact the concierge, mention earlier, you never know what they could do for you.

When are you going?

I bought 4 tickets for people in my office for $150/each right off the Ticketmaster web site. I bought them the very first day they were available online which is 90 days out.

If you are planning your trip short of 90 days I can try calling one of the casino hosts I know, but they will still no doubt be expensive. If you can plan ahead then it really will not be too difficult just getting them online.

I also believe the show will be dark for a few weeks after the July 4th weekend...Celine probably wants to go home to Quebec for a more moderate climate than Vegas in July.

Thanks Mike

It won't be till this Fall or end of Summer. I'm not too worried about the show tickets as I am about the whole autograph thing. I am already telling my wife not to expect too much because I don't think I can pull this off. If any of you guys are gonna be in vegas soon, can you find out if it's possible to meet Celine? and of course the $$$. I think a quick picture would be quite plenty. Thanks in advance.

Take her to see Penn & Teller. They always stick around for autographs.

Unless you know someone in her inner circle or are a "whale" (the highest of high rollers), you odds are not good.

You might try contacting Caesers/ParkPlace's PR department for kicks and ask if she does "meet & greets" and if so, who qualifies for them.

BTW, I'm the moderator here and I deleted a post in this thread that contained inappropriate langauge. Please watch what you post.

Why not, get an autograph 8x10 on eBay for say $30, and tickets to the show $500, and tell her you tried your hardest and did you best. I honestly think that is the closest you will get to her. However, I would be trilled for you to prove me wrong.

In any event Best of Luck!

Sit down on your first day there, say you are a good friend of Kerry Packer and Larry Flint, and play some serious BJ, i.e. about 10-25K a hand for the whole day. Then mention the autograph idea to a casino host... http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...um/biggrin.gif

Seriously Korea, the chance of arranging to meet Celine is virtually impossible. The sooner you manage to convey this to your wife , the better. I personally think the ebay picture is a great idea. Combine with a nice dinner, a nice room/suite at a top hotel (not the Hilton, forget the points this once http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif ) and she will certainly enjoy the trip, even without a personal audience with Celine.

P.S: How about a special trip, i.e. a private helicopter ride over Las Vegas at night or similar ? Not the cheapest option, but at least its possible.

Enjoy your trip !

I'm single and I know who she's going to say gave her the idea.
The previous ideas are useless.
Here's what ya gotta do, Norton. Ya gotta get Trixie drunk and hire a Celine impersonator. Better yet, I've seen her drunk. I'll throw on a gown over mybus uniform, put on a wig, sing that Titanic tune and she'll think I'm Celine.

Seriously I don't have an answer. Reading your idea on Craps comps, I know your sharper than me so maybe you'll figure something out.

What sort of cash do you have?
What is Celine's pet charity?
If you think Celine's charity is one that your wife would support, how about a huge contribution?
Perhaps she makes appearances at these types of fundraisers. Do some homework and find out. Good luck!

FYI, info on Celine's favorite charities are on her web site.

First of all, I would like to say thanks to all of you that had good comments. The rest of you can kiss my backside http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif

Basically, I am a middle-roller and am perfectly happy with my status. My wife will let me gamble 4 hours a day and that's it. I honestly didn't think Celine was a big a star as I realize she is now. Coincidentally, she is in every Chrysler commercial that I see now. I'll "churn" about $4000 through the craps tables per session a day. That is about $1000 per hour that I buy new chips while I discretely put my exisiting chips in my pocket a little at a time. The pit boss just calculates my total buy in for the round at the end of 4 hours at $4000. I stayed in vegas 6 nights at the Luxor last year. Very slow paced as I was only gambling 4 hours a day and going to see shows and such.

Back to topic. I haven't given up yet but I am not too optimistic either. The whole purpose of the autograph would be to get it in person and also a snaphot together. Korea71 doesn't do celebrity charity stuff. I am thinking of enrolling my wife in Celine's fan club. I think doin so might even get us a little better seating at her show. Looks like I will be going in Sept/Oct so I still have some time to figure this out http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif

killerbrew Jun 6, 2003 3:40 pm

Yes, Celine is huge. There must be Celine chat rooms/forums with fans. Maybe they will have post with Celine sightings and such.

It's a long shot, no matter how you look at it.

If you believe it is meant to be, put $25 on next roll being a 12. If it hit's, let it ride. If it is meant to be, you'll have $22.5K to help you figure a way of getting this done.
