I saw The Blue Man Group too, it was pretty good. I love all Cirque du Soleil shows so maybe that's why I like Mystere more.

Go to the Venetian website and sign their guestbook. I get an email from them about every other month or so offering some very attractive prices. These prices are frequently the same as the 'casino rate' without any gambling obligation. hockeystl |
If you go to priceline and choose Las Vegas Strip Area, 5-Star Luxury *****. Start your bid at around $80, you should be able to get in for under $110.00/night. Sun-Thurs stay only. Venetian is the only ***** hotel.

The above post is legitimate, but outside of the really slow times (the two weeks before Christmas, early Jan before the Super Bowl, sometimes in mid Feb to name a few), it is tough to get any kind of deal at the Venetian (or any other 4*/5* hotel in Vegas) on the weekends.
Take a look at biddingfortravel.com (click here) for recent Vegas Priceline winning bids. One of the most common Vegas Priceline bidding strategies is to "break up your stay", with a higher bid for Friday and Sat, and a lower one for Sun-Wed. This is a good strategy in your case, as often a low bid for all 5 days would not be accepted due to the weekend. Assuming you land the same hotel for your entire stay (the V is the only 5* hotel on Priceline, so it is a safe move) the hotel typically will not make you move rooms. You'd need to let them know about your multiple reservations at check-in. Another option is to look for a slightly "lower end" property for the weekend, and move to the Venetian on Sunday when the rates come down. The Luxor, Aladdin, MGM, NY NY, Flamingo, and Ballys are all decent hotels that will be much cheaper than the Venetian on the weekends. Travelaxe ( http://www.travelaxe.com ) is another good resource for hotel deals. Good luck, the Venetian and the Mirage are my two favorite places to stay in Vegas. if you visit www.biddingfortravel.com and read some of the comments/articles, you can get the venetian at times for $79, or even as low as $76 (before taxes+fees of course) as recent as last month thru priceline. it would really help if you bid within 2 wks to increase your chances of getting a rm at a low price. good luck!

Although they don't advertise this, ask for their Prepaid rate. I reserved a room back in Dec. for Valentine's weekend for $159/night. This is a non-cancelable rate...

The room is not my definition of a suite as there is only 1 room, just that the living area is sunken. No way I would pay over $150 unless there was something happening in town driving up rates everywhere. Valet parking took over 30 min to get our car, and the hotel wasn't even that busy. We ended up doing self park after that, which is a real pain, with the garage dirty, dark, crowded, and everyone driving real fast. The garage in Paris is a massive improvement re: Venetian. The Venetian parking garage is under construction and is indeed a real hassle. There are two valet parkings. You want the one at the front door that the signs don't lead to.
$150/night is an average weekend rate for the top resorts in Las Vegas. QL |
