They charge per person as you enter, regardless of how much or how little you eat. I doubt if the cashiers at the entry would let you in without paying. If you speak to a supervisor and explain the situation, they may allow it. Otherwise, you have two options: let the family go by themselves, or pay for your own entry.

LV buffet related but not a rating. Headed to LV this weekend with the family. They want to do the buffet at our hotel (MGMGrand) but I cant bc of gluten allergy. Just too many risks for cross contamination etc. Is there any reason I couldnt just sit with them while they eat (but I dont)?

Affordable and quality buffets in Vegas?
Anyone can recommend a good value (no more than $30 per person, including taxes) and quality buffet in Vegas?
Want to take our guest there but after hearing that now buffets are costing $45 or more I am really hesitating...

There is almost nothing left that would offer dinner all in for <$30. You might look at South Point ... can't vouch for the quality but I'm sure there are reviews on Yelp, etc.

While I'm not sure I'd characterize them as "quality" when compared to, say, the Bellagio or Caesars, it's satiating enough and hits the spot if what you're after is "decent" food offerings in abundance. Generally, you just won't find prime rib (there's regular roast beef), crab/lobster, sashimi, or any of the expensive fare.
Disclosure - I have no personal experience with either the Lux or Ex buffet, but have tried MGM Grand's during the initial pandemic reopening. It was about $28? If you can get the buy one and get one free, I think it's a very good deal. By the way, if I recall, the pork ribs were pretty good while the roast beef was overcooked (in my view, lean beef should be rare, as opposed to a rib eye roast which is best prepared medium rare).

the only one with dinner under $30 is south point, I think thats without tax though? Many of the cheaper ones arent open for dinner.
The best value is probably Palms, it gets good reviews. The only one I have eaten at post covid is rampart for champagne brunch and that was good.

Bachanal July 4th
Thinking about a trip to vegas the the long weekend this year as a new Diamond member. Want to do Bachanal, early, but no surprise, its booked solid on opentable. Anyone with experience on a holiday with what I should expect walking up without a reservation? Would be willing to do dinner early like 3 or 4pm if thats what it takes.

Someone posted in my Instagram feed about the M Hotel (off strip) buffet with all you can eat lobster tails. Has anyone tried it?
