check-in process at Caesers properties?
Question: Is second guest check-in / remote check-in possible at Caesars properties in Las Vegas? (preferably Planet Hollywood)
Goal: To book a room for 3 nights for my parents using my account to avoid resort fee. (Caesers Diamond) I think MGM is possible with their mobile check-in + mobile key, just curious about Caesers properties. |

They allow mobile check-in, but you need to go to the kiosk for keys. They don’t do mobile keys, as far as I know. And, the kiosk requires an ID. It can be either a passport or drivers license, so you could just send along your passport with them if you don’t need it. I haven’t actually stayed at the Planet Hollywood for years, but this has been my experience at the Flamingo, Horseshoe, and Paris.

Be careful with this, though. I've been told more than once that their (Caesars) policy is the player with the status must be there to check in. I booked 7 rooms with my host last year for a family trip and nobody could check in on arrival day until I got there, even though the rooms were in their names.

Even mobile check-in is no guarantee -- I was recently invited via email to do express check-in online, received a QR code and instructions to scan it at a kiosk along with my ID, and when I did that, it said I had to see the front desk. And then when I asked the front desk, they said "oh, because [I forget the reason already] you have to come to the front desk." "So why did I get an e-mail asking me to check-in remotely and receive a QR code telling me to obtain my keys from a kiosk?" "..."
 and nothing tricky either, it was just me, on a one-person booking. The reason they claimed was either the offer I was booked under, or that I'm Diamond, neither of which makes much sense, but even if that were legitimately the reason, you'd think their IT could be smart enough not to send me the invite email or issue me the QR code in the first place... |
At Paris last year we used Mobile check-in, scanned our passport and got keys. 0 human interaction.

How do you sweet talk your way into a room upgrade without human interaction? I would much rather talk to the desk person & see if I have options (without resorting to the $20 handshake).
