How will Vegas manage social distancing?

Interesting read on the Wynn's website explaining their reopen policies and procedures, linked below if anyone wants to read.

https://www.visitwynn.com/documents/...ealth-Plan.pdf

I've heard every other table will be closed, only three seats max on Blackjack, every other slot machine off as well as being angled / spaced

Strange times ahead!

I guess the aim is to "lose less" rather than start making money again anytime soon

In LAS the seats at slots are NOT attached to that game. Pre- Virus, I've had issues wanting to sit at a game I wanted to play, the chair was missing, that chair was being used so a couple could sit together with only one of them playing (would that NOW be permitted once Casinos open)?
In Atlantic City most chairs are physically attached to the slot machine.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I've seen machines in LAS that have seats directly attached (some you could slide back and forth a bit but only within a narrow range). i.e. I wouldn't make a blanket statement either way. But it's possible I'm confusing memories of some other place like Reno/Tahoe.

I agree there are some (but very few) that are attached--many of those have wide seats, so a couple can sit together*, but most have "floating" chairs, which slot attendants are perpetually neatening up to abut the slot machine.
*perfect arrangement for the current virus situation.

Attached chairs vs. floating chairs at slot machines is a funny topic that I've actually paid a lot of attention to while in Vegas (because I'm a lunatic!). The attached chairs seem to be with the HUGE promo type games at the entry to the casinos. Things like 7X over-sized slot machines where you put in $5 and pull the handle to win a billion dollars (has anyone in the history of the world ever actually won this?). If I play slot machines (which is rarely) I just go for the standard ones with loose chairs where I can lose my money in a more private manner.... hopefully with a cute cocktail waitress making regular rounds

If they live in the same household what's the problem?

That's not the MGM. That's the Cosmopolitan.

To be fair, not a single "essential" business I patronized during Nevada's stay-at-home order enforced social distancing, so I'm not really sure why there's outrage about it all of a sudden - especially when there are plenty of "social gatherings" going on right now that aren't undergoing any scrutiny whatsoever.

I'll continue with my choice to stay at home and avoid social gatherings for now, especially since I often come into contact with people in groups deemed more vulnerable. I nevertheless respect others' choices to approach life differently.

I think the issue is that casinos are such crowded places with people from all over the world. And I would also say that since there is drinking involved and a bit of an anything goes attitude in Vegas anyway, it could really be a recipe for disaster. And I don't spend hours in a grocery store but I sure do in a casino! I can't believe that Cosmo has done nothing as far as safety....at least Caesar and MGM have made some efforts with plexiglass and sanitizer everywhere and promising to wipe down surfaces constantly. If I were to go to Vegas now...I would have to drive which does not appeal to me at all and even though I love gambling at Cosmo, I would not step foot in there.
