Wynn - Priceline bedtype problem
 

Hi all, I won a room at the Wynn Fri-Mon memorial day weekend for $225/nt via Priceline. Its going to be 4 of us and I figured it'd be no problem to change to a double room, but apparently cannot be done and we're stuck with a king room.

Do any ft-ers want this room? Its non transferable, but I can add your name to the room. I already paid for it and booked a double through FHR.

Or has anyone run into this problem before and can offer any suggestions? :confused:

Yes, that is the trouble with PL NOP - 4 people in a room without a guarantee to get two beds.

I was successful upgrading from 1 King to 2 Queen Beds at the Wynn on a Priceline room via the $20 trick last year upon check-in. But it was not during Memorial Day weekend, but a much lower occupancy timeframe. Prior to that, I was told that I could pay an additional $30 a night to upgrade to a 2-Queen room.

I pricelined Wynn last may and was able to switch from a king to 2 queens just by asking. They said normally charge $30/night more but waived the charge.

Tipping $20 i'm sure would do the trick for you. Just only have 2 people check in so they don't see all 4 of you.

Thanks for all the tips! When you guys were able to change, was it at checkin or prior? I've called both priceline and wynn multiple times and both are adamant about not being able to change my reservation, but wynn said I could request it at checkin a would give it to me for a charge if available...

My upgrade to 2 Queen beds was at check-in, with a $20 tip.

There is discussion on the Wynn masterthread that $20 tips have been discouraged as of late. So what worked last year may no longer work this year. YMMV, of course.

Do it when you check in, not beforehand. Worst case, you get charged nightly extra, which is like $30/night. Just tip the $20 and you'll be fine.

Thanks everyone for your insight - My fear is that all the double rooms will be sold out before we check in since its a holiday weekend.

When trying to get a room for more than 2 if the room is booked via PL NYOP, it helps to get to the hotel early if you can. The earlier the better. Tipping helps too. While I haven't stayed at Wynn, I have stayed at several other Vegas hotels that were purchased via PL and never a problem.
