What is the dress code for these three restaurants?
What is the dress code for these three restaurants? I know the website says one thing, but I want to know what it's REALLY like. I'd like to have a nice experience with my wife where I can wear a tie and a sport jacket (with coat check) and my wife can wear a nice dress. Is that overdressing for these places? And if so, where should we go instead where our attire would fit in more?
- Stratta at Wynn for dinner on a Friday night @ 6:30PM - Botero at Encore for dinner on a Saturday night @ 6:30PM - Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris for dinner on a Sunday night @ 7PM Thanks, Ethan |
Do you really have to worry about overdressing? Personally, it never makes me feel uncomfortable to be the best-dressed couple in a restaurant, particularly if I'm celebrating something.
If you're more concerned about other diners' casual dress detracting from the special experience, that's a different matter. In that case I think you're going to want to kick things up a notch from the restaurants you listed and consider places like Joel Roubichon, Le Cirque, and Aureole. |
I wouldn't worry about fitting in either. I've seen plenty of couples dressed very well at restaurants of varying calibers in Las Vegas. If you enjoy dressing up, do it. Don't worry about fitting in.
On the other hand, if you are concerned with the attire of other diners, then Vegas is probably not for you. Last time I cared to look into it, Joel Robuchon and Guy Savoy were the only big-name restaurants left in town that still listed jackets as required on the website but that is by no means a strict requirement (I have eaten at Robuchon without a jacket and I've even seen jeans/polos in the dining room). Le Cirque and many other restaurants that used to require a jacket have long since given up. Personally, I think it's worse that Robuchon and Guy Savoy claim to require them but don't enforce it. |
Thanks guys. First time in Vegas with my wife so I just wanted to see what the experience was like (my only other time was when I was younger with just a bunch of friends).

In general, people in vegas are underdressed so you'll stand out--in a good way. I'd say don't worry about it. ^
