LA to Vegas Limo Options
Hi - myself and a couple of mate are planning to go from LA to Vegas by limo in late march. Looking at a 6 seater. Anyone know of a good provider and the ball park 'all in' cost i should expect to pay (including fuel, tip etc)?

No experience with this outfit, but here is a starting point.
|
Figure $100/hr for the limo, times 10 (it's a 5 hour trip and you would be charged for the driver's return trip), plus tip. I would recommend a rented SUV instead, if you can remember to keep to the right.

One way? LAX-LAS?
I'd say for a few people, WN is your friend. ;) |
Its an interesting drive to do once, lots of desert if you've not experienced the desert. Trouble is, after the first 90 min or so, the novelty of the desert wears off, but you've got 3 or so hours of desert driving left.
I'm with mbstone, a limo will be insanely expensive. Easily $1200-1500. Even then, an 6/8 pax limo isn't that comfortable for a long drive. baccarat_king nailed it, Southwest airlines will get your there for around $70 a person (one way). If you're hell bent on doing it, hold off on the drinking and rent a car. Keep in mind that on Thursday afternoons and Fridays, the traffic is pretty bad. Don't forget to stop in Baker and have your picture taken by the world's largest thermometer. BTW, They drove in the Hangover, because the needed the Mercedes there as part of the movie. :) They drove in Swingers because they did it last min (and they were broke). :) |
Air travel is much more civilized.

QL 1. It's about the same time hit once you include dealing with airports. 2. It's about the same amount of money. 3. Everybody should do the Drive at least once. |

Wasn't there a bundle deal with MGM a few months ago that included private jet transport to/from LA for like $600 pp? |

Yeah, but:

At $80-$100 per hour round-trip, whether the passengers are travelling round-trip or not, you are looking at a minimum limo charge of $640 (8 hrs RT x $80/hr) plus gratuity. The WN all-in price is $70 per person one-way so you are comparing a limo of $640 plus gratuity to a Southwest flight of $210 (3 passengers x $70). My math says keep that $430+ in your pocket. Heck you're going to Vegas. Surely you can find somewhere to use that money. ;) |

thanks guys - i realise the math doesnt work on limo v. flying - but think travelling through the desert in a limousine enjoying some cold beers would be a great way to arrive in Vegas. A once in a lifetime sort of thing. Best quotes so far are $600 + fuel + tip - aiming to find an all in price for $700.
Have one other question - what date do most of the Hotel pools usually open in Vegas - am hoping april 1? |
