Mirage v Encore
Which would you pick... tower suite at the mirage or resort king suite at the encore?
|
That's kind of like comparing a Holiday Inn to a Westin :)
I would definitely stay at the Encore - much better overall experience. |
thanks, we are just stopping for 2nts each way to/from Hawaii.... on the way back my choices are encore or a tower suite at the Luxor.... same pick?
|
Similar previous threads, not a direct comparison with Mirage, but the odds on favorite is the Encore :).

So the resort king suites at encore are hotel rooms? I guess I though there was at least a wall between the bed and sitting areas.

I think the only hotel-casino with a true suite as a standard room is TheHotel. |
there are unconfirmed reports of mirage closing 14 floors. that would be about half their rooms. would certainly make quite a difference in "size."

I think the Encore will give a better overall hotel room experience but I really like the vibe of the Mirage. We stayed in a Penthouse Suite and I loved the old-world Vegas feel to it. I believe all the rooms are now completely renovated at the Mirage.
I think the Mirage has a "W" hotel kind of vibe (or perhaps more Aloft) and the Encore a more faux and nouveau riche kind of vibe. |
The Mirage is one of the nicest mid-level resorts IMO. But Encore is at a whole different level - 5 stars all the way. With your trip, it might actually be fun to stay at the Mirage on the way out and Encore on the way back.
You don't want to do it the other way around though - after Encore you'll be spoiled forever. |
I haven't stayed at the Mirage, but the suites at Encore are fantastic.
I think the suites at the Palazzo are a lot better though. |

I think the suites at the Palazzo are a lot better though. Both Encore and Palazzo are two of my favorite casinos to gamble in, mostly dice - but, both are very enjoyable experiences. I also like Palazzo because I find the room service (@ Venetian/Palazzo) to be superior to Wynncore. I love access to the Canyon Ranch Fitness classes (core bootcamp and yoga are tops) and Canyon Ranch Restaurant; which are a very short elevator ride from any suite @ Palazzo. My other 'love' of Venetian/Palazzo is easy access to Bouchon for brekkie/brunch... one of my absolute favorites. |
Thx for the advise. I decided to take it and stay at Encore. However, I just got a great deal at THehotel on the days before Hawaii, so I was thinking of staying there going and Encore coming back.....any comments would be appreciated.......

Hi,
Sounds like a good plan!:D^ I have stayed at both The hotel and Encore and both are very good. At The hotel you can look around the Mandalay Bay and the South Strip whilst the Encore is great for exploring the centre strip. Enjoy! Regards TBS |

For me, a deal doesn't matter if the hotel I'm staying at treats me like a third-class passenger. Case-in-point, I was comped a cypress suite at Bellagio last month. From check-in to check-out (which was the following morning), the experience was just crap. MGM has taken this once-great property, given it a terrible redo and now seems to coast on the name that Steve Wynn spent years building. Sad. I immediately left. Checked out. Went to a mid-level suite at Encore. They keep a minor portfolio on me, treat me well and I had another awesome stay at my favorite hotel in Las Vegas. Would I pay $50, $75 or $100 more a night for that kind of service? You bet. Comparing THEhotel or Mirage to Wynn or Encore is ridiculous. They're in two very separate 'experience' categories, geared towards two very separate kinds of guests. It's not a wealth thing: It's a service thing. You can get the same level of service at Encore on a $109/night room as you can when staying in a Salon or Parlor. That's what makes Steve Wynn untouchable in that town. BN |
