Selecting former F cabin seats
Hi,
I booked an award ticket (GMP-HND) in J thru DL Skymiles on a B773. I’m wondering if there is any “trick” in selecting a seat in row 1? I did do a search and from what I saw you’d need to be a Skypass member to select one. I do have an account (am also DL Silver if that matters) and am willing to switch the FF# to change seats.
I tried putting in the record locator (given to me via DL) on the KE site but it rejected it. I’d appreciate any advice!

I bought a code-share ticket through JAL, and using the KE reservation number with my skypass membership, I was able to select 1A/1B for my wife and myself. This was for a flight in May 2022.

I had status years ago, but that has since lapsed. And when I took this flight, no status with Skypass.

So, I'm on a similar situation:
Booked DL award HND-GMP for april in J.. Rows 1 and 2 (F) are blocked.
I tried with my DL Plat and KE (no status) and they are still unselectable.
Called last night and was told they would open up at check-in.
Flight's in April so I'll let you know, OP, how it evolves.

I now got swapped from a B773 to an A333, I sort of wish I could’ve kept the 773 as I’ve never flown one, only 772 and 77W. Anything can happen as my trip is still far out.
