Lounge overcrowding

I've never been to the KAL lounges in ICN, but heard many times that Morning Calm members get turned away during the peak hours.
I emailed KE asking if they had any plans to expand the lounges to accomodate all the extra people that would be getting a lounge voucher with their Silver membership in the new programme... And all I got was a.....

"Dear Mr. KIM/...........

Thank you for taking the time to write to us so as to share
your concerns regarding our new SKYPASS program.

First of all, we appreciate your comments since this is one of
the best ways for us to know which areas need additional attention.

We have promptly forwarded your comments to the relevant department for further review. By reviewing your comments, we will strive in every way we can to better meet the needs of our valued customers and to increase customer benefits.

We once again appreciate you for bringing this matter to our attention, and we hope to serve you to the best of our ability in the future.

Sincerely,

Customer Relations
Korean Air"

I start from HKG, so appreciate it when I get to use the shower in a lounge after a TPAC flight... Guess I'll be sticking to CX or JAL... Pity, as a layover in Seoul would have been nice.

I was just in the lounge two weeks ago 12/20 before my flight to BKK (early evening like 5-6 PM). I am a regular Morning Calm member. I visited the Prestige Lounge East (it's weird because when you walk in the airport - it's on your FAR LEFT which feels like west end). There was a sign outside stating that due to overcrowding, Morning Calm and other partner members may not be able to enter. They didn't stop me from getting in though. The "West Lounge" (which feels more in the center) was so busy there was a line to get in (but no overcrowding denial sign).

That being said, if it's a shower you want - the KE lounges only have 1 shower so I'm told. There are FREE showers for transit passengers in the 4th floor Rest & Relax area airside of both terminals in ICN. I've used them and they are absolutely lounge quality. Free towels and toiletries, of course. So don't pass up ICN because of a KE lounge shower when you can get one easily on your own.

Oh, right. Forgot about the complimentary shower facility in ICN. Heard some good things about it. I probably will end up using it if I get turned away from the KE lounges. It's just frustrating that KE seem to have no plan in place for all the extra passengers that will have lounge access. Such a di*k move. 🤦🏻

Is this in T2? The one mid terminal on the mezzanine? While I'm not 100% certain, I've used the showers there before and could have sworn there's more than one.

Not sure. Just feel like I saw reviews before of only one shower (didn't see for myself)....which would be odd. That is the "West" lounge in the middle section and the "East" lounge is at the far end of the terminal....
