ICN Lounge worth flight change?

My 6 year old son and I are flying back from Shanghai through ICN. As of now we only have about 90 minutes as a layover in ICN. Curious if it is worth moving my originating flight up by a couple hours to enjoy the lounge more? The flight would be 8:50AM from PVG instead of 11:10AM. We're coming from downtown so I know we'd need to get the first Maglev train at 6:45. Thoughts on if the lounge at ICN is worth the change? Thanks!

90 min connection is usually enough for connection in ICN.
However, if you are coming from PVG, I would add more time for connection.
I frequently experienced Chinese PLA Air Force block off runway without notice/release plan.
Sometimes it lasted hour or other times it lasted half an hour.
Whether you use time to lounge or not, I definitely recommend more than 90 min to fly out from PVG.

Since you are two people, why is the MagLev on your radar?

I figured it would be the quickest way out to the airport? Am I wrong?

If you happen to be staying within walking distance of the Longyang Road Maglev station, you are not wrong, but I assumed this was not the case since you mentioned "downtown" (20 minutes to get to Longyang Road, 15 minute wait for train, 8 minutes on the train itself, and 10 minute walk after you get to PVG).

Yeah we're staying near the financial center. Figured we'd take the train over to the Maglev and then hop on that to the airport. Guess it's kind of the "cool to be going 200mph in a train" factor as well. But a 45 min taxi ride to the airport wouldnt be the end of the world.

Used lounge today on my way to BKK. Definitely not worth a change to to visit it.

If you ever have a need to overnight at ICN, however, a new hotel called the Golden Tulip is a few hundred feet away from the Unseo metro stop. Very nice hotel for about $60/night.

No... and this is coming from someone who's had several 7+ hour layovers at ICN in the last 12 months.
