IAD or ATL - ICN / First Class

Hey guys,

I am traveling in the beginning of May and have the option of going via IAD or ATL. The IAD flight has Kosmo 2.0 and the ATL flight is probably easier for me to position for.

The flights are both on 777-300ER's right now.

I noticed that over the past 2 weeks ATL has seen 747-8, A380, and 77W on this route. What are the odds that they upguage this route? How often do they do it? Going from a 77W to an A380 is a huge increase in seats.

I do typically watch a lot of movies and I've heard that the selection on Kosmo 1.0 is dismal.

Where would you go?

Kosmos 2.0, 100%. Flew 2.0 ICN-JFK, 747-8i. Amazing hard product, service good but could improve. Have fun.

Unfortunately, KE equipment swaps are somewhat common. Not on the day of, but between booking and travel time. From looking at Airlineroute.net, it appears that KE has loaded their schedule update for summer in terms of ATL (so unlikely to go back from the 77W), but no changes for IAD loaded yet. Thus, you're probably approaching a point of stability.

No kidding. I was so looking forward to the 747-8 on ICN-HKG last month.
KE swapped it out for an ancient 747-400. That sucker was so old that the seats had ashtrays.

I'm planning a trip out of IAD in November. How can I be sure if F will be the Kosmo Suite 2.0?

Also, can anyone compare the Kosmo 2.0 to SQ's A380 F?

KE is just finalizing their summer a/c assignments (for the schedule beginning in late March). I wouldn't feel sure about what sort of bird KE has assigned to a longhaul route until a couple months out.

ATL is likely dropping down to the 77W because DL is starting direct 777 service on 3JUN17.

Should still be 77W with Kosmos 2.0/Prestige Suite

IAD/ICN was one of the first US routes to get the new 77W configuration, and it has been pretty consistent since then.

I just flew ICN-ATL RT 8/21 and 9/2. 773ER was most definitely the "older" flatbed seats.

I flew the ICN-IAD route on the old configuration just two weeks ago...

And yet another one. Our ICN-PEK 77W for next weekend was just swapped out for an A330.
So we went from 1-2-1 First Class Kosmos suites to 2-2-2 Business Class seats sold as "First Class".
I many be slow at times but think I've finally learned my lesson about flying KE.

And it happened to us! We were to be on KE12 out of LAX on the A380, but we were switched to the old 747-400. Not happy, since we booked this routing just for the ride.

You flew in business or first?

How full was the plane from what you could tell?
