747-8i info?

Sorry if there's another thread started on KE's 747-8i (couldn't find it), but does anyone have any info on the plane?

I see from the J revamp what the seats/IFE may be like, but I'm hoping there's more info out there like schedule/routes and seating config.

According to an a.net discussion, it will be F6C48Y314 or C49. Business class will be the newest version for sure (called Prestige suite)

https://www.koreanair.com/global/en/...ige-suite.html

and the first class should be very spacious, for sure, as there will be only 6 seats in the nose section.

Thanks bobbybrown. I can't wait to see what F looks like and what they'll do with all that extra space.

It's F6C48Y314. The a.net discussion comes from here:

There was indirect discussion of this last year. The blog linked to in that thread provides a Google Doc spreadsheet that tracks them all...

Sorry, can't tell you more.

Thanks for that. I stumbled upon that spreadsheet once before. Really interesting.

Sounds like there will be an all-new first class Prestige Suite (!!). According to this AUSBT article, it will take "spaciousness, stylish design and comfort to an even higher level" (quoted statement in article presumably from a KE press release).

It's already installed on the A330s that KE just got. Here's more info if you need it: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/korea...ige-suite.html

Current fleet will not get this seat. Only new aircraft... so that means no A380 aircraft will be fitted with this seat.

Thanks for linking that thread. Hopefully, there will be more detailed info soon on the 748's F seats, since all of the details of the new Prestige Seat and Suite seem to be fore either J or medium-haul F.

Considering that JAL put 2-3-2 of the same seat as Prestige Suite on their 777, I'm not sure what has happened with the 2-2-2 on KE when the 747 is a wider frame than the 777. Do they have yet another seat design (or variation) of some sort?

Also, surprised about 6 seats only in F. That's two seats less than the already low number of 8 on LH. Remember that BA has 14 F seats on their 744 nose, and even CX has 9.

If the 748 has a longer upper deck, perhaps they will use the first half of the upper deck for F and the other half for J along with parts of the main deck including the nose. I'm wondering if this is feasible.

Does anyone know when the 748 will enter service with KE? Any indication of what routes will get the service?
