Booking Award Flight

I've been having issues searching the KA website for availability for a future flight; anyone else having the same issue? I was able to use the website a week ago and everything seem kosher. I can't seem to find any flights with availability for business from LAX to SGN in October.

Be careful you're not searching during Korean Air peak dates (around October 3 and 9 holidays). Koreans use these holidays to book long weekends, and as such, Korean Air imposes black outs on award travel.

Thanks for the tip. I am trying to book for October 13-24. I tried chatting with the online help and the agent mentioned that two reward seats were still available. However, I'm not confident she understood my needs and reluctant to transfer over points from UR until I speak to someone over the phone.

In the past, my search always should how many available seats were left via award redemption and now I can't seem to find a single flight in Oct, Nov or Dec with availability!

Interesting. I just looked up KE's site and your dates aren't part of the peak season as they define it. As mikesaidyes mentioned, there are the two national holidays but your dates steer clear of those days. I would just try calling again and maybe you'll get a better English speaking employee. Some are straight from Korea but some have lived here for a while having school here.

Thanks for your time! I need to wait a couple of days until my UR points clear and then I'll call in and try to make the reservation. I'll update accordingly.

Assistance Please

Hey folks. Have enough Skypass Mileage to fly back for Europe on Delta after a one way transatlantic cruise. I called Korean customer service and they were very nice and knowledgeable. They said to just give them a little information and 24 hours later they will approve.

Now comes the tricky part. Does Korean just tell Delta that you have so much mileage and maybe gives you a PIN number or something to book with them? Or, does Korean have to book Delta directly in your name with the mileage? I have a slight problem as I need a flight from the European port (Copenhagen) that kind of coincides with the arrival of the ship or a few days later.
