Coversion of Korean air miles
Hey Folks,
Any of you guys know if there is a way to covert Korean air miles to any US airlines? Thanks. Appreciate all comments. |
As a rule, miles cannot be transfered from one program to another. In most of the exception cases, you loose a lot of value, like 100,000 miles turns into 8,000 miles sort of loss. Not a good idea.
BUT Airlines are part of alliances. Korean Air is part of SkyTeam. That means you can use your Korean Air miles for a free ticket to fly EVERY Skyteam member airline, including Delta Airlines. In order to secure your flights on Delta, do not call Delta. Find the number for Korean Air mileage redemption and ask them to redeem your Korean Air miles for the flights you desire on Delta. Airlines make a small minortiy of their flights available for miles. Korean Air miles can only be used for Delta flights at the lowest level of Delta avilability. To save you time, I suggest you use Delta.com to identify dates/flights on Delta that have low level availability with Delta miles. Then call korean Air and ask for those flights. |
just as an FYI, i have tried exactly as wanaflyforless described, but each time i was transferred to someone who did not speak english.
