I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know you can pay for access to the HUB lounge at ICN. I recall the cost was something like 30,000 KRW but there were ways of getting a discount I believe if you were flying OZ or KE. Not 100% sure about the discount nor the exact price, nor if that's all day, or just for a limited number of hours. There's no showers in the HUB lounge, but are showers outside of it which are "free" except you have to pay for your towel/shower kit.

The KE lounge at ORD is nothing special. No bathroom, much less shower. It's more or less a big room with armchairs and couches and free snacks and drinks. Really not much in the way of work space, either. Still, that's more in the way of amenities than the public areas of T5.

Am flying from Seoul in Jan and am planning to be at the airport about three hours prior, any way I can still get a discount to the HUB? I mean how do they know you are transiting? One could say they have lost their first boarding pass...

Transferring passengers would not have Korean immigration stamp on their boarding pass. On the other hand, departing passengers would have it on their boarding pass. |

In the link to the information it says below the transit info "this benefit extends to all Korean Air passengers either arriving or departing from Incheon" so if i'm reading that correctly the 40% discount is valid whether or not you are in transit, to qualify it appears you just need to be flying with Korean Air

Am traveling early next year, anyone think they'll extend the offer?
Frank ps- be prepared to eat alot to justify the cost.... Food was average. Seating OK and plenty of internet screens. Lots of juices/coffee etc... Also saw one bottle of scotch and one of vodka......and a few types of canned beer (including one on tap) |

YEs. Was in the HUB lounge yesterday and got 40% off with our Korean Airlines boarding pass. Also a large sign at each HUB entry indicating a 40% discount off the 2011 increased admission of $38.... did'nt ask if it was good for the whole year.....

Priority Pass any good at ICN?
With the discount the cost would be $22 at the HUB.
Has anyone used Priority pass at ICN? I have one from HH that has a $35 co-pay Would it be at the same lounge? We are a family of 4 arriving at 6:00AM with a 5 hour+ layover. |

The HUB lounge is a Priority Pass. Actually there's quite a few Priority Pass lounges at ICN. In the main terminal, there's both HUB lounges, both Matina lounges, and the Asiana lounge. In the Concourse, there's the Asiana lounge and the KAL lounge. Note the KAL lounge in the main terminal is NOT a Priority Pass lounge. For practical purposes, in the main terminal, the Asiana lounge is the only one of those listed that has showers. The "showers" near the HUB lounge are free, but the shower kit (towel, amenities) are not. So unless you brought your own stuff, it's not very practical. And it's "free" to everyone, not just those going to the HUB lounge. So going to the HUB lounge does absolutely nothing for you in helping to get a shower. I actually didn't mind the food in the HUB lounge. If I just wanted a place to relax and grab a bite to eat, I'd actually prefer it to the Asiana lounge, being the Asiana lounge is often overcrowded, and last I checked, they don't have meals except during very limited meal hours, and the food is very quickly consumed by everyone and not replenished once it's gone. HUB replenishes the food continuously throughout the day. HUB is never crowded that I've seen it. So if there was no cost to either (ie. free Priority Pass), and I didn't need a shower, I'd choose HUB. If I needed to pay, or needed a shower, I'd choose the OZ lounge. Under no circumstances would I choose the Matina lounge, being it has no showers and not a good selection of food, in my opinion. But being everyone's different, you ought to check it out first if making a decision. They're all located nearby each other. |
