Hongdae
I’m debating whether to stay there. RYSE hotel. I understand it’s a young, hip, university area - any drawbacks ?

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Hongdae at the start of October. You are maybe 30 mins or so from Gyoengbokung Palace and some of the more touristy areas using either the bus or subway system.
There is a direct bus from Incheon airport to Hongdae that takes around 1hr and drops off near the Apple store. You can also take the train from Incheon to Hongdae - although this is the local train that stops at all stations on the line. The line from Incheon to Hongdae also stops at Gimpo airport. Plenty of shops, restaurants and bars in the area. |
I had dinner at the RYSE - Charr restaurant. Great menu, food and service. Highly recommend. The hotel itself is a bit of a bus station - but perhaps that’s part of the charm. However, I am not sure I would stay there.
The neighborhood is a really nice area. It gets very crowded in the evening, late evening with young people dressed to impress ! It’s a great contrast to the vibe of the rest of Seoul. |
Where did you end up staying?

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/kore...l#post36709096 But some friendly advice, one of the forum rules is not to post the same question twice. Try to avoid doing this in future. |
