Flights to Seoul - Wait or Book Now

Not sure if this is the right place to post this thread.
However, I am looking to travel to Seoul from Vancouver, Canada in November for 3 weeks (dates flexible).

Just wanted to get people's thoughts on whether they think prices will go down or would it increase if I keep on waiting for another month or so.
Currently a round trip ticket is around $1640 CAD.

I think that is a good price. I do not think the price will go down much if at all. I would book early as the lower price fares tend to sell out much quicker than the full fare economy.

In all my years living here, 12 to be exact haha - nonstop flights from any city to Seoul don't really go on sale or they're not that cheap ever. The prices are pretty consistent. Especially flights from North America. Not much competition so the prices are pretty predictable.

Hi,

I didn't want to create a new thread for this, so I'm writing here. I've been searching for a ticket to Seoul (while living in Germany). It has been almost a month since I started my search, and there have been some good deals that caught my attention.

However, I often find myself waiting for the next deal, hoping for an even better offer. I'm not sure if this strategy is effective, but I'll see how it goes.

My question relates to my search for tickets using various sources like Google Flights, SkyScanner, and today, Idealo Flug. Idealo Flug is a search engine ( I think only famous in Germany? for finding the cheapest flights, although it also allows searching for other products.)

Today, I came across a deal on Idealo Flug that seemed quite appealing to me.

So it is round trip (18.09.2023 Leaving and 03.10.2023 coming back) 777 (if you pay with mastercard) otherwise 810.

Then I visited the Qatar Airways website. I wanted to check the official website to explore business class prices. Additionally, in Germany, there is a website called "Corporate Benefits" that my company collaborates with, and they currently offer a 12% sale code for Qatar Airways. I thought that if the business class ticket price was around 2,000 euros, I could get it for 1,760 euros with the 12% discount, which seemed like a very good deal. Or i could get 12% off for the Economy Price which would cost me 800 x 0,78 = 624 which is also great.

However, when I checked the prices on the official Qatar Airways website, they were twice as expensive as what I found on Idealo Flug. I'm unsure if this price difference is normal or if anyone else has had a similar experience?

I also have another question regarding flight upgrades with Qatar Airways. Suppose I purchase a ticket for 800, I'm curious to know how much it would cost me to upgrade it, let's say, 2-3 days before the flight. Is there a specific sweet spot or optimal time frame for upgrading? I would appreciate any insights or information on this matter.

Good Luck with Deal Hunting!

Thank you very much in advance!
