Good for 2 years.

Generally is overnight approval; regardless apply 1 to 2 months before trip out of caution.

I see 22 countries are now exempt from K-ETA until the end of 2024 for Visit Korea Year. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm not sure I trust airline staff to allow me to board without one despite the exemption.

Interesting. I see the USA is on the exempt list. However, we can still request a visa (which costs roughly $10 per person) and avoid having to fill out an arrival card.

I can confirm that the K-ETA is not currently needed for exempt countries. The arrival card just asks your name and address and is given out with the health declaration form (United passed these out in flight, and there were plenty around the arrivals hall, as well). No issues boarding the plane, checking in online, or entering the country.

Go figure I got and paid for a K-ETA just days before the exemption. Well, at least I can skip the arrival card.
