COEX City Airport Terminal
Anyone used the COEX City Airport Terminal for check-in to a Thai Airways flight?
I was wondering if we can use the Check-in there in the morning for a 6pm flight to Taiwan, as our hotel is next to CEOX. Is it necessary to pass departure immigration there if we use this City Check-in or can we spend the whole day in the city and then take any bus or train from other stations to Incheaon airport?

According to CALT website, there is no restriction for THAI check in https://www.calt.co.kr/lang/en/chkin/chkin2.php
Doing the immigration at CALT (City Airport Terminal) is not a serious thing. It's literally a tiny little office you walk in and go back out. No one will know if you take the bus immediately after that. There's no one "stopping you" as it's a giant open building. So you should do the immigration for sure - this means you can use the "crew/diplomat" entrance at the security lanes (CALT website has details and location)
So then you can literally walk outside, be free in Korea and do whatever you please! It's really helpful. You also get you proper boarding pass and check bags without having to touch them again.....
At the airport, you clear security in SECONDS. This is a huge time saver. So, you honestly don't have to get to the airport until right before boarding time. It's amazing!

I mean that scenario is 1 in 1,000,000,000 but honestly - you'll be fine. They also advertised CALT as "check in early, finish procedures, enjoy your last day in Seoul" as a selling point.
