Chuseok - what's open/closed during that weekend?

Hi all
I'm planning a quick trip to Seoul 14-17 Sept which coincides with Chuseok. How much does Seoul city center shut down during the holiday? Will most shops/restaurants/etc be open? More or less people to be expected in Seoul?

Thanks in advance

All tourist sites will be open and full of people. Some may have adjusted hours, but there is always a posted schedule closer to time. When you’re here, you can also call 1330 for updates info or for anything really. It’s a tourism line. They’re very helpful, actually.

Seoul itself will feel empty in many areas. For instance, Gangnam and Jongno Office areas. The roads and streets can be pin drop quiet. That being said, most restaurants and bars in nightlife areas around subway stations etc will be open and many people do go out.

You will have no problem finding food and things to do. Random mom and pop places will all have different days they close, so that is what varies.

Don’t bother with taking a train anywhere as all tickets sell out well in advance. And avoid long distance buses because the highway is busy too.
