1 HR Layover at ICN

My wife and I are leaving on our Honeymoon on Dec 26 to Bali. We will be flying ATL to Bali via ICN. Our layover is only 1 hr 15 minutes. We are booked through Delta, and will be on a Delta Flight flying Delta One class ATL to ICN and will be changing to Korean Air for ICN/DPS.

Will 1 hr 15 min be enough time to get clear transfer, and change terminals since arriving Delta and departing Korean Air?

Luckily, on the return we have a 6 hr layover, so will have time to enjoy ICN and clean up before the next 15 hr leg.

You'll be fine, assuming your DL flight is on time. The terminal change is very simple - just a quick train ride from the satellite to the main terminal without having to clear immigration.

The published MCT DL-KE at ICN is 70 minutes, and you have 75 minutes. Presuming KE is on the DL ticket then KE will generally hold the connecting flight up to an hour for connecting pax, ime. Easy connection but don't dawdle.

Is true that if we check luggage, we will have to gather checked luggage at ICN before we clear transfer, and recheck said luggage? or will it pass through?

You do not have to collect luggage since they will check them all the way to DPS.

If your flight is running late, ask the flight attendants before landing. They MIGHT let you sit in the front to get out more quickly. But this is much more a KE courtesy than Delta.

Also, if it's REALLY late, KE staff typically waits outside the plane with your name on the door (for all classes of passenger).

KE and DL play nice now, but have always worked together at ICN.
