Eastar Jet CJU-GMP super cheap, am I missing anything?

Booked it for $30 all in. Includes 15 kg checked bag + 7 kg carry on + 1 personal item = even better than standard legacy US policy. Seat selection says starts T-15 days; didn't say extra cost or not. They even allow free change until T-7 days.

Seems too good to be true (LCCs are notorious for massive sneaky fees). Am I missing any catch?

Standard USA legacy policy tends to be that checked bags can be up to 50 pounds, NOT 15, before overweight charges apply; premium cabin passengers and elites might get 70 pounds. Also it's not standard to weigh carry on items. Although there might be a formal limit, it would be far beyond 7 pounds.

Are you sure these limits are pounds and not kilos? The standard limit for foreign legacy carriers has tended to be 20 kilos (about 44 pounds) for a checked bag, so 15 kilos for a LCC wouldn't be surprising. For carryon, again 7 kilos or about 17 pounds would not be so unusual.

oops, yeah, it's 15 kg. And I also misspoke in that legacy carriers no longer allows a free checked bag in domestic travel (to std pax), so this is even better. Hence my worry that this is too good to be true and that I missed something

Korean law allows for essentially penalty free cancellations. It's also why, amazingly, you can refund any ticket, like an international sale ticket. Even on US carriers like Delta! Just costs 100-200$.

Good price. The flight isn't so long anyway but LCCs can be prone to delays sometimes. I try to go with the cheapest KE or OZ but they never come down that cheap.

I have flown ZE on this route to both directions. No issues whatsoever and everything worked well.

Sat morning from GMP and Sun evening from CJU likely to be very busy periods, but I would not expect major queues for check-in or security.

Did not check any bags, and recall had 2 bags with me on board.

Plenty of competition on this route, and yes, tickets can be very cheap.

Altogether over a 100 flights from GMP to CJU daily.

Any experience with seat selection in advance? Accordingly (dated 2010 but the only official source I found), it can be done at home, but it doesn't have any detail for how.

One reader says it can be done 2 weeks in advance but cited no source.

My flight is Oct 13, so less than 10 days. When I click on My Page -> (select the flight) -> Detail -> Seat assignment and print boarding pass, I get a popup saying "service coming soon".

Koreans might be able to choose via the Korean part of the website but you could try calling their Seoul English line and trying to book your preferred seat.
