Is 45 min connection time doable?

Very early morning flight out of MRS to OSL connecting through AMS, most likely no luggage checked, will we be able to make the Oslo flight with 45 min connection? There is another flight ~3 hrs later, just in case but I really like to arrive in Oslo around noon. Thanks.

It's a legal connection - but it's tight.

On the plus side, it's Schengen to Schengen, so there is no Immigration and no Security check to worry about.

On the minus side your flight (assuming it's KL1400) is operated by F70 which means that you will almost definitely have to go on a bus ride to get to the terminal.

There is a reasonable chance that you will make it... but I wouldn't make any plans for Oslo for that first morning as you may be spending that morning at Schiphol!

Thanks Aviatrix.... it is indeed KL 1400 which according to flightstats has about 87% on time performance and an average delay of 31 minutes. If we missed the flight, how likely will KLM put us on the next flight?

They will, if MRS-AMS-OSL is booked on one ticket (or if not, AMS-OSl is changeable) providing seats are available. Otherwise you may have to wait (or get rebooked on SK).

If you or your travel agent tried to be "smart" and book 2 separate tickets then they are not obliged to rebook you at all if you arrive late.
If all on one ticket then no problem at all.

Indeed of course if you have a changeable ticket for AMS-MRS they will try to accommodate you on the later flight.

I would check-in on internet for both flights if on separate tickets, if on one ticket it should do it automatically.

   I don't understand why any "smart" person would like to have two tickets issued for a MRS-AMS-OSl flight on the same company?

can sometimes be cheaper !! but you lose the "secured" transfer guarantee and you'd be considered no-show if you arrive late. if on same PNR, they rebook you on the next available flight

I was referring to the concept of "smart ticketing" where, with a bit of creativity, you can save a lot of $$$ by avoiding minimum stay rules, purchase tickets in cheaper countries etc.
But indeed, not advisable with a very tight connection because then it can be penny wise - pound foolish when things get delayed.

That flight always gets bussed in and from landing to gate normally take 7-10 minutes, the 5 minutes to get off, 10 mins to get everyone on bus and to terminal, so even if you arive on time you will be pushed to make the flight as they will want everyone board with 5 min before actual departure
