Funnily enough, JFK is the one NYC-airport with the most room for growth. There is capacity for more flights I once read. Although I doubt that would be on the early-evening transatlantic departure bank. I wonder how many departures JetBlue snags at that peak time. Or whether they mainly use the morning-hours with less transatlantic traffic...

One time leaving JFK the captain announced we'd have to wait a bit longer as with the strong transatlantic tailwind at that moment, we would have arrived before Schiphol opening hours in the morning - arriving too early. Better not waste fuel circling above AMS.

On Friday the 25th I flew ZRH-CDG-SIN, and the ZRH-CDG flight was delayed by 2h and 20mins. The 19:40 was estimated to leave at 22:40, but I don't if it did get out that late. Many people missed their connections, I got moved from the 19:40 to the earlier departure and thus made my longhaul connection. No op up for me with over 50 people missing the plane. There was a very heavy thunderstorm in the early evening that basically shut down CDG for some time. The gate to Paris was a Zoo, and one guy tried to have his own auction to get a seat on the earlier plane in order to get to GRU the same day. "200 Euro ... 300 ... 400 ... Didn't get how far he went after he got laughs at 600!"

Glad to see MD-11 ops has been a bit more stable the last days.
And also glad to see that in general, for a network the size of KL, the delays have been quite moderate the last few days.
