New Rules for Odd-sized Baggage
 
The weight based rates for odd-sized baggage (bikes, surf boards, etc.) will be replaced by flat rates from April 1.

€ 40 within Europe
€ 80 outside Europe
€ 120 to Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Israel.

Rates are one way.

I remember transporting my bike from AMS to LHR for free in august 2000. Have the weight based fees been introduced after that, or was it free if you stayed within your allowed weight limit (I was RW at the time).

Ofcourse the bike got severely damaged and was in need of £120 repairs that KLM paid for.

It was, and still is.

KLM now insist that your bike must be packed in a special box, which they supply for an extra €20!

I thought it said in the rules as a PE you get this as a benefit. !!!!

Is that now one less in the list.
